Well, right before i moved to Las Vegas, i knew i had to get rid of the boat. If i tried to take it on a 300 mile trip through the desert, there was no chance id ever make it all the way.

I finally got rid of it right after the starter went out on me while delivering pizza one night. It was the final straw. The starter wasn't easily replaceable, as are most cars. (It was at a VERY odd spot above the bottom side of the frame)... So instead of taking it to a shop or trying to replace the starter myself (Really, only about $60 and some elbow grease), i figured i would just count my losses and try to get however much money i could out of it.

While a car like this may be just about the most awesome thing to drive around in, i bet you can imagine how much a Kelly Blue Book would estimate the cost of one at haha

After a while of it sitting in a parking lot (Furniture store owned by my mother), i really didnt care anymore. So the day that the one guy came into the store asking about it, i was pretty much willing to just let it go for anything.

He gave me $200 for the car, which is a complete steal for a WORKING V8 Chevy Caprice Classic. It just needed a new starter, after all.

He's driving a 96 pontiac TransAm right now...which is giving him about as much trouble as the boat...lol.

its a really GREAT car when its working, but its got so many issues its not even worth it. Just driving that until we can save enough to buy a motorcycle. and then we'll fix up his mazda 626 thats sitting in my garage dead (with an oil leak so bad it can only drive about a mile before it all pours out) so we have a gas-friendly commuter car too.

and eventually i'll be buying a bike too, hopefully.

Should have just replaced the starter. Something broken (in general)? I bet it takes away double the value of what it would actually cost to fix.

I didn't know he had a 626. I used to know a bit about the 90s mazda cars (owned two MX-3s), so when you get around to working on it, y'all let me know...unless his isn't a 93 or newer. You can always just say "screw it" with the oil leak and swap in a new engine. The KL-DE engines are pretty prevalent in the MX-6, 626 and Probe so it isn't too pricey to get a working one out of a wrecked car...unless it's sporting a different one. Is it the 4 or 6 cylinder engine? I think low-mileage KL-DEs go for 600-800. Where is the oil leak coming from?

lol, its a 93 i'm pretty sure. 6 cyl.

there are MULTIPLE oil leaks. some in the engine, some in hoses and tubes. once we seal one, more will pop open they said.
not sure what exactly they wanted to do, its been awhile since we dealt with that car.
